@Michael Wilson yeah you're asking exactly the right question and I'd rather give you a straight answer than a marketing one.
The 50km figure is drone-to-drone, both modules airborne — that's the configuration where you eliminate ground reflections and multipath almost entirely, which is why the number looks so clean. The 5km ground-to-ground spec is the more "real world builder" number, and even that assumes reasonably clear surroundings.
For NLOS honestly it depends heavily on what's in the way. Foliage and light terrain features — people have had decent results, signal degrades but doesn't cliff-edge. Dense urban or anything with serious concrete between the nodes is a different story, you're going to take a meaningful hit and I wouldn't plan a critical application around worst-case NLOS without testing your specific environment first.
If you're building for a use case where NLOS is the norm, I'd love to hear more about what you're actually deploying — there might be smarter ways to set up the link budget or node placement to compensate.
