MultiNav Pro+ BLE - does the RF front-end need any external matching network?

Hey all, working on a custom PCB where I'm integrating the MultiNav Pro+ BLE module and I'm trying to figure out if the RF front-end already handles all the impedance matching internally or if I need to add external components on my board. The datasheet mentions the "powerful RF front-end" but doesn't go into a ton of detail about whether that's fully integrated or if there's an expected 50-ohm trace to an external LNA or PA on the user side.

@Mary Jones good question — the RF front-end on the MultiNav Pro+ is fully self-contained, so you don't need to add external LNA or PA stages on your side. The amplification and sensitivity optimization that gets you those 5km ground-to-ground and 15-20km man-to-drone numbers are already baked into the module itself.
 
What you do need to be careful about on your PCB is the antenna feed trace. Treat it as a standard 50-ohm transmission line from the module's RF port to your antenna connector — keep it short, use a controlled-impedance trace (microstrip or coplanar waveguide depending on your stackup), and avoid routing it near switching regulators or digital signal lines. Any impedance mismatch or coupling noise at that section will hurt your receiver sensitivity more than anything else.
 
If you're using the module on a 4-layer board and want to share your stackup, I can help you sanity-check the trace geometry — that's usually where people lose a few dB without realizing it.
